Baltimore Book Festival
What a fantastic time in Baltimore. Got to meet Troy Johnson and speak on a panel with fellow authors and publishers who are attempting to change the way the publishing industry promotes its authors. The main focus was not just on self-promotion, but on creating yourself as the brand. The main thought process running through the entire discussion was the fact that you need to push yourself harder then anyone is going to push for you.
Being on the streets of NYC every day walking around hustling The Last Block in Harlem, it was a nice change of pace to sit down with folks and really listen to how they were making it happen for themselves.
In the coming days I’ll cut the video together and post some clips up. Amazing time in B more though – a city under construction with attempts to define itself.
